SS-In the first years of Islam
In the first years of Islam, why did the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prefer to call people to Islam in secrecy?
Everything in this world is tied to the law of gradual change by God Almighty. Those who do not obey this rule are doubtlessly certain to meet failure during the course of time.
The Noble Prophet (pbuh) obeyed this rule in accord with the instruction he received from his Lord. For three years, he did not announce his prophethood and Islam publicly. He acted quite prudently in his task of messengership and was only in contact with those close to him and he could rely on as far as the religion he was introducing was concerned.
It is clear that such an approach opened up ways to Islam further. With three years of secret Islamic preaching, many people took sides with Islam and strengthened his cause. After those three years, there was no point in remaining hidden any longer since Quraishian polytheists had already heard all about him and his teachings. It was then the proper time to announce the holy Islamic cause to the whole world.
